Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips on Saturday urged voters to back the ruling People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) at the upcoming polls, saying continued support is needed to safeguard Guyana’s development.
Speaking at a rally in Lusignan, Region Four, Phillips pointed to the government’s record of national growth and inclusivity. He said citizens should protect the progress achieved under the administration by voting for a party with a history of delivering results.
“Now is not the time to take risks with our country’s future,” he told the crowd. “We must build on the progress already made and stay the course with a government that has shown it can deliver for every Guyanese.”
Phillips described the PPP/C as a unifying force, representing Guyana’s diverse population.
“This is the party that embraces every Guyanese—Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, Amerindian-Guyanese, Chinese-Guyanese, Portuguese-Guyanese, and those of mixed heritage,” he said, drawing loud applause.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to guide Guyana’s transformation and urged voters to remain united and focused on long-term development, calling the PPP/C the most inclusive and reliable choice for leadership.
