Guyana take home four medals at CAREBACO Junior Badminton Cup

Guyana finished the CAREBACO Junior Badminton Cup with four medals on Saturday in Barbados.
In the boys’ Under-11 doubles semi-finals, Liam Brummell and Joel Rambiriche battled hard but lost to Barbados’ Siraj Brathwaite and Gabriel Watson, finishing with a bronze medal after winning the first set 21-13 before dropping the next two sets 9-21 and 18-21.
Mishika Beharry and Joel Rambiriche also secured bronze medals in their respective events. Beharry, partnered with Jamaican Daniel Foredd, lost in the semi-finals to Jace Smith and T’shelle Barnes with scores of 21-16 and 21-19. Rambiriche, competing in the boys’ Under-11 singles, lost to Trinidad’s Michael Balvin 21-9 and 21-16, also finishing joint third.
The Guyanese team, which included players Anjaneysa Godette, Ruel Rambiriche, Leshaunte Berkley, Joanathan Debidin, Yonneil Benjamin, and Christopher, was coached by Akili Haynes and Nkosi Beaton. They received support from various sponsors, including the National Sports Commission and Republic Bank.
