A small business development complex will be established in Georgetown to make life easier and more comfortable for citizens.

This is according to President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, who was addressing a public rally at Alexander Village on Wednesday.

Ali described the community as an “epicentre of development” and promised more projects.

“Look at what is encircling your village,” he said, adding, “Hotels, malls, hospitals, industrial development, manufacturing services, warehousing, new housing, expanded stadium, and soon to come, a small business development complex.”

The facility will bring together mechanics, spray painters and other small “bottom-house” operations into one secure, well-equipped location, with utilities, security and organised workspaces to help them grow and operate more efficiently.

By relocating these activities from narrow village roads, the project will reduce congestion, improve safety and create a cleaner, more peaceful environment for residents, Ali said.

“You will be able to continue your business and live in peace within your community,” he said.

Ali added that the ongoing wave of development will give young people greater access to jobs. (DPI)
