APNU to launch manifesto soon

Aubrey Norton

The A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) is set to launch its manifesto soon, as the party today announced the conclusion of the document.

Coalition leader Aubrey Norton said that the manifesto entails a compilation of measures following continuous engagement with citizens over a four-year period.

He noted that in preparing the manifesto, time was invested in discussing and integrating the various positions of the coalition partners.

“Additionally, our manifesto has also benefited from the advice of experts. The manifesto is intended to ensure the essentials of our people-centred development strategy as well as our approach to economic development, managing our oil wealth, eliminating poverty, guaranteeing each household a livable income, creating a comprehensive social protection system, providing top class social services, building better communities, meeting the United Nations sustainable development goals and protecting our territorial integrity among other areas,” he said.

Norton said that the coming weeks will see more engagements between the party and the citizens as they converse over the people-centred policies that seek to put more of the resources from the oil wealth in the hands of the Guyanese people.
