
Chase Academic Foundation will defend their title on Sunday in the boys’ final of the ExxonMobil U-14 Football Championship, organised by the Petra Organisation, at the Ministry of Education ground.
In 2024, Chase claimed the championship and will now face Linden’s Three Miles Secondary, who advanced to the final after defeating Waramuri Secondary 1-0 in their semi-final encounter. Chase secured their spot in the final with a convincing 4-1 victory over West Ruimveldt Secondary.
On the girls’ side, Waramuri Secondary lost to Bartica Secondary 3-1, while Marian Academy, a strong contender, was eliminated by Chase’s girls’ team with a dominant 3-0 win. Bartica and Chase will now clash in the girls’ final, also scheduled for Sunday.
The teams reached the semi-finals following intense quarter-final action. In the girls’ tournament, Waramuri advanced with a commanding 8-0 win over Abram Zuil, while Bartica also recorded an 8-0 victory against East Ruimveldt. Marian Academy triumphed 6-2 over Vreed-en-Hoop, and Chase overcame Bush Lot 5-1.
In the boys’ quarter-finals, Chase dominated Bygeval Secondary with a 7-0 win. West Ruimveldt edged past St. John’s College on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Three Miles defeated East Ruimveldt 4-0, and Waramuri secured their semi-final spot with a 3-2 penalty win over Dolphin Secondary.
