Fyrish man dies in accident

A 36-year-old front-end loader operator, Nadir Baksh, died today following a tragic accident along the Vive-La-Force Access Road, West Bank Demerara.

The incident occurred around 11:30 hrs and involved a front-end loader bearing registration number 24776, which Baksh, a resident of Zeelugt Squatting Area, East Bank Essequibo, was operating at the time.

According to police investigations, the machine was proceeding across a wooden bridge when the operator reportedly lost control, causing the loader to plunge into a trench. Baksh was pinned beneath the vehicle and sustained injuries to his body.

He was pulled from the submerged loader by colleagues and rushed in an unconscious state to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body is currently at Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
