Two sisters who were reported missing on June 21, 2025, have been found safe on the Essequibo Coast.

Police ranks on mobile patrol around 20:00 hrs on Thursday, June 26, discovered the girls—ages 12 and 15—lying in a hammock at the Supenaam waterfront in Region Two.

The siblings, who are from Glasgow Housing Scheme, Sisters Village, East Berbice (Region Six), told officers they had travelled from their home to Parika, before taking a speedboat to the Essequibo Coast in search of someone.

Investigations are ongoing to contact the individual the girls claimed to be looking for.

Meanwhile, their mother has been informed, and arrangements are being made for the girls to be reunited with her.
