Court calls on Paul Slowe to lead defence in sexual assault case

Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore on Thursday overruled a no-case submission by attorneys representing Paul Slowe and called on him to lead a defence in relation to a charge of sexual assault, contrary to Section 4(3) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03.

The ruling was handed down at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where the magistrate determined that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against Slowe. The matter was adjourned to October 2025 for the defence to begin its case.

The charge relates to allegations made by a female police officer, who reported that Slowe sexually assaulted her on three occasions between March and April 2019 at Police Headquarters, Eve Leary.

Senior Police Legal Adviser and Attorney-at-Law Mandel Moore is representing the Prosecution. Attorneys Nigel Hughes, Dexter Todd, and Dawn Cush are representing the accused.
