Police Force receives outpost building, motorcycles

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) received a significant boost on Tuesday with the donation of a police outpost building and three motorcycles, aimed at enhancing operational capacity in Regional Police Divisions 4B and 10.
The donation was made by Reeyad Khan, representative of Guy-America Construction Company, during a brief handover ceremony at Moblissa Junction. Receiving the items were Superintendent Wayne De Hearte, Commander of Division 4B, and Assistant Commissioner Kurleigh Simon, Commander of Division 10.
Several ranks of the Guyana Police Force were present at the ceremony, where the keys to the new facility and motorcycles were officially handed over.
The GPF noted that the strategic placement of the outpost at Moblissa is expected to significantly improve police visibility and monitoring along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway, a critical corridor connecting the two divisions. The initiative also supports the ongoing Highway Road Project, which aims to improve infrastructure and safety in the region.
Speaking at the event, Khan highlighted the importance of police presence in the area, adding that the donation reflects his company’s commitment to public safety and community development.
In response, both commanders expressed sincere gratitude to Guy-America Construction Company, emphasising that the gesture aligns with the GPF’s strategic pillar of corporate partnership. They also extended thanks on behalf of the Commissioner of Police and the wider force, acknowledging the donation as a timely and impactful contribution to law enforcement efforts in the area.
