Caribbean Creators Summit to empower Guyana’s digital talent

Young content creators in Guyana are about to receive a powerful boost to their digital ambitions. On June 21st and 22nd, the Caribbean Content Creators & Influencers Summit will be hosted at The Palazzo in Georgetown, gathering some of the region’s most dynamic digital storytellers, influencers, marketers, and entrepreneurs.
The two-day summit is designed to empower aspiring and established creators through hands-on workshops, insightful panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities. Topics will range from personal branding and storytelling to platform monetisation and community building.
According to curator Jamicia McCalman-Nelson, the summit is not only about skill-building, but also about confronting the systemic challenges that creators in the Caribbean face.
“Yes, we have the platforms, but many of us don’t fully understand how to use them to our benefit,” McCalman-Nelson explains. “When it comes to monetisation, the infrastructure simply doesn’t exist for creators to be paid directly through the apps. Many rely on brand partnerships, but we need to start having conversations about what systems we must put in place so creators can truly benefit from the space they occupy in this industry.”
Globally, the creator economy is now valued at over US$100 billion. Caribbean voices are increasingly joining that movement — using digital platforms to tell local stories, promote regional culture, and boost tourism and business. But a lack of resources, mentorship, and direct monetisation options continues to hold many back.
The summit aims to change that. More than just a conference, it is being positioned as a launchpad for the next generation of creators — a space where community, creativity, and culture come together to shape the future of digital storytelling in the Caribbean.
