Five newly appointed judges will be officially sworn in tomorrow to serve on the Court of Appeal. The ceremony marks the single largest swearing-in of appellate judges at one time in the nation’s history.

According to a release from the Judicial Service Commission, the five judges who will take the oath of office are Justice Jo-Ann Barlow, Justice Navindra Singh, Justice Nareshwar Harnanan, Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, and Mrs Joycelin Kyte-Thomas.

The appointments were made following recommendations by the Judicial Service Commission to President Dr Irfaan Ali. In total, seven individuals have been named to the Court of Appeal. However, due to pressing official commitments, Justice Damone Younge and Mr Rafiq Khan, SC, are expected to be sworn in at a later date.
