Alliance For Change (AFC) Leader Nigel Hughes is calling for calm and peaceful conduct following the release of a preliminary post-mortem report indicating that Adriana Younge died by drowning.
Hughes strongly condemned the wave of violence, looting, property destruction, and road blockages that erupted after the announcement of the pathologists’ findings.
“Violence, lawlessness, and disorder must never be the response to grief or outrage. Not in Adriana Younge’s name,” Hughes said. “Her life, her dignity, and her legacy demand better — from all of us.”
The AFC leader urged citizens to channel their pain and concern through lawful means as the country seeks answers. While acknowledging that the findings mark a first step toward understanding the circumstances of Younge’s tragic death, he insisted that key questions remain.
“We reiterate the urgent need for a full, thorough, and transparent investigation to determine how and why Adriana drowned,” Hughes said.
He added: “Justice must be pursued with resolve, but always with respect for the rule of law and the rights of all.”
Hughes reaffirmed his party’s commitment to ensuring that Adriana Younge’s death is neither forgotten nor misused, and that full accountability is achieved.
