The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has extended the deadline for filing 2025 tax returns to Friday, 9 May, allowing taxpayers additional time to submit their returns without facing interest or penalties.

In a public advisory, the GRA announced that the extension applies to all returns originally due on 30 April 2025.
These include Individual Income Tax Returns, Property Tax Returns (for both individuals and companies), Capital Gains Tax Returns, Corporation Tax Returns, and Partnership Tax Returns.

The authority emphasised that penalties and interest will be waived for any returns submitted on or before the new deadline, provided that all associated payments are made by the same date.
Highlighting the importance of tax compliance, the GRA noted that tax filing is a legal obligation that contributes significantly to national development by funding essential public services such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and security.
It also ensures financial transparency and aids the government in effectively allocating resources.

To facilitate timely submissions, taxpayers are encouraged to file electronically using the GRA’s PADNA mobile application or the Optimal eServices platform, both accessible at www.gra.gov.gy.
Submissions can also be made in person at any GRA office nationwide. Payment options include GRA cashiers, online banking services through Demerara Bank, GBTI, and Republic Bank, as well as via MMG (Mobile Money Guyana) and Western Union’s Bill Express.

For further assistance, the public may contact the GRA on 225-5061/2 (extensions 2204 to 2216) or 227-6060. The GRA is urging all taxpayers to file early and use approved channels to avoid last-minute delays and ensure compliance.
