ACCIDENT1

A 39-year-old motorcyclist lost his life on Monday night following a fatal collision along the Moblissa Public Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

The deceased has been identified as Markind Jackson, a resident of Silver Hill Village. Reports indicate that the accident occurred around 22:00 hrs and involved three vehicles: a minibus (BRR 8331), a parked car (PXX 3747), and Jackson’s motorcycle (CL 7080).

According to police, the minibus—driven by Maurice Meredith, 54, of Wismar, Linden—was proceeding south at an alleged high speed when the driver reportedly lost control and veered onto the western side of the road. The minibus then collided head-on with Jackson’s motorcycle, which was heading in the opposite direction. The impact forced the motorcyclist and his bike into a parked car nearby.

Both Jackson and the minibus driver sustained injuries and were rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex. Jackson was pronounced dead on arrival. Meredith was admitted for observation and remains under police guard.

Jackson’s body was taken to Pensioners’ Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.

Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
