Over 100 jobs are expected to be made available to Guyanese as one of the newest Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) agencies, VChart Services, prepares to host another job fair at its Enmore, East Coast Demerara office this Thursday.
VChart entered the Guyanese market following a visit by President Dr Irfaan Ali and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Agency Head of the Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest), Dr Peter Ramsaroop, to India, where they pitched Guyana’s business environment to investors.
Dr Ramsaroop told Ignite News today that the company, which has been operating in Guyana for over a year, has already hired dozens of Guyanese at its Tuschen and Enmore offices. At the upcoming fair, it is expected that 50 more persons will be hired initially, with that number projected to increase to as many as 150 over time.
VChart is an emerging revenue cycle management enterprise in the American healthcare sector, serving various clients with a focus on Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing. It provides cost-effective services that ensure quality, allowing clients to remain competitive.
Locally, the company has offered positions such as Patient Interaction Representative, where employees are tasked with streamlining communication with patients regarding missing information, insurance changes, coordination of benefits, order acknowledgements, and scheduling.
Dr Ramsaroop noted that VChart is more than just a call centre, offering more technical services related to healthcare and insurance—providing firsthand experience of the operations within these vital Western industries.
He highlighted that working in such sectors provides viable career opportunities for young Guyanese, encouraging them to view the BPO industry not merely as short-term employment, but as a path to a rewarding career.
“It is very good training for young people to gain exposure to the Western healthcare system. We hope the younger generation begins to see the BPO industry as a career platform where they can grow within different levels of business processing companies. We are also looking to attract more technical outsourcing firms to Guyana,” the CIO said.
