Police in Region 10 are probing an alleged homicide committed on Kenroy Bradford, called “Kelly”, a 20-year-old labourer of Lot 314 Block 22 Wismar, Linden, which occurred today at Five Corner, Mackenzie, Linden.
The scene was visited by the Commander of Region 10, Assistant Commissioner Kurleigh Simon, Deputy Commander of Region 10, Deputy Superintendent Austin, Detective Sergeant Layne-Burgess, a crime scene rank, and a party of police officers.
Enquiries revealed that on the date and time mentioned, Bradford was in the company of Andrew Jacobs and Anthony Jacobs (both residents of Block 22 Wismar) at Blazing Shop, Five Corner, Mackenzie, consuming alcohol.
During this time, Anthony Jacobs approached a 29-year-old female bartender, who was in the company of 20-year-old Cyrus Jacobis and four others, all residents of Block ‘F’, Christianburg, Wismar, Linden.
Cyrus reportedly became angry and pushed Anthony Jacobs, prompting an argument between the parties. Cyrus and his group then left the shop and went to the parapet at Five Corners. Anthony and his friends followed, and the argument continued.
It is alleged that Jacobs and his group began pelting beer bottles at Cyrus and his companions. A brawl erupted in the parking lot at Five Corners, during which Cyrus allegedly rushed into the fight with a knife and stabbed Anthony Jacobs in the abdomen, causing him to fall.
Andrew Jacobs then pulled Anthony away from Cyrus and received a cut to his finger in the process.
The fight escalated as members of both parties joined the melee. When the fight ended, Andrew noticed that his brother Anthony was bleeding, and, with the help of a public-spirited citizen, rushed him to the Linden Hospital Complex.
Meanwhile, Cyrus and his group left the Five Corner area.
Bystanders later noticed Kenroy Bradford lying motionless on the ground and contacted the police. Upon arrival, police received information and conducted checks in Dacama Circle, Mackenzie, where they arrested Cyrus, whose clothing was covered in suspected blood.
He was taken to the Mackenzie Police Station, where it was observed that he had injuries to his back and a cut to his left ear. He was subsequently escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex for medical attention, treated, and placed in police custody.
The scene was processed, and it was observed that Kenroy Bradford was motionless in a crouching position, leaning against the back of a white Premio motor car bearing registration number PAH 1750.
The body of the deceased was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where it was pronounced dead on arrival by Doctor London. The body is at the J.Jetsco Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, Anthony Jacobs is admitted to the hospital as a patient, with his condition deemed critical. In custody are Cyrus Jacobis, Tiffany Fiedtkou, and Andrew Jacobs. Investigations are ongoing.
