A graphic video showing the death of a young mother, shot by her partner and succumbing to her injuries in the presence of her son has been circulating on social media and Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo has asked citizens to desist from doing so.
During his weekly press conference at Freedom House today, the Vice President urged that persons take responsibility for their actions and stop sharing the video.
“I hope people will desist from sharing the video… you can stop by not sharing it. You can stop it from being disseminated by not sharing it, people can take responsibility,” he pointed out.
He proposed that persons should not be eager to promote violent videos by continuously sharing its contents and urged that persons have consideration for others as they would require for themselves.
“Just imagine the victims were members of your family; how would you feel if you saw this circulated widely?” Jagdeo questioned.
The male accused in the video has been detained and was placed before the court for murdering his wife.
