The distribution of the much-anticipated $100,000 cash grant has recommenced, with disbursement exercises currently underway in Regions Two, Five, and Ten. The Ministry of Finance announced on its Facebook page that distribution in Region Six will commence tomorrow (Saturday).
Distribution dates for Regions Three and Four will be released soon.
The distribution in Region Two is set to conclude on 21 February, while disbursements in Regions Five and Ten will be completed on 28 and 21 February, respectively. Cash grant distributions for Region Six will begin tomorrow and conclude on 21 February 2025.
Hundreds of communities and villages will benefit from the cash disbursements.
According to a report from the Government Information Department, the Ministry of Finance has registered approximately 271,000 individuals since the beginning of the year, with 242,000 successfully verified. Last year, around 390,000 people were registered and verified.
Following the passage of the national budget less than a month ago, funds are now available for disbursement.
The Ministry of Finance also confirmed that distribution exercises have already been completed in Regions One, Seven, Eight, and Nine.
A total of approximately 412,000 Guyanese have been registered for the cash grant, with around 121,000 individuals having received their payments so far.
