Construction work is progressing rapidly on the new Tuschen, Karasabai, and Waramuri Secondary Schools, with approximately 1,650 students expected to benefit.
Tuschen Secondary, located in Region Three, is being constructed at a cost of $864.7 million and will accommodate over 800 students from Tuschen and neighbouring communities. Upon completion, the school will feature 24 classrooms, a Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) centre, laboratories, a multi-purpose hall, a cafeteria, a sanitary block, a canteen, fire prevention mechanisms, and an outdoor recreational facility.
The $1.7 billion Karasabai Secondary School in Region Nine is expected to accommodate approximately 500 students upon completion. Its features will include a modern science laboratory for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; a main teaching block with allied lecturing facilities; technical and vocational education and training centres; a home economics and cafeteria area; teachers’ quarters; a dormitory; and an outdoor sitting forecourt.
Meanwhile, approximately 350 students will benefit from the $326 million Waramuri Secondary School in Region One. This school is one of several being constructed in the region. Once completed, it will ease the burden on students from surrounding communities who currently travel to Santa Rosa for educational facilities. The school will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, science laboratories, and sports facilities.
