Hanuman devotees will be treated to a moving celebration of reverence and chant as the Bajrang Baan Committee hosts another Hanuman Chalisa chanting event at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, tomorrow.

Hanuman is a powerful and devoted deity in Hinduism, known for his strength, courage, and loyalty. A key figure in the epic Ramayana, he aided Lord Rama in rescuing Sita from the demon king Ravana. Born to the wind god Vayu and Anjana, Hanuman is celebrated as a symbol of devotion, especially through his unwavering service to Rama.

According to Pandit Narad Gosine, chanting the Hanuman Chalisa invokes energies of light, love, wellness, and happiness within devotees.

“We have been seeing the Hanuman Chalisa chanted across the world for many years. There are 40 verses, and these verses carry a sense of mystery and mystical magic. They are Sanskrit verses, and when chanted, they help with sickness, remove negativity, and improve life in many ways—just like mantras or prayers in Hinduism,” the pandit explained.

Hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, Pandit Gosine noted that chanting events are very popular. The energy of these verses has been well-received in countries like the United States and Canada before being introduced in Guyana.

“Last year, we decided to come together with the devotees of Guyana to host this grand event, allowing people to unite—in the spirit of Dharma—for the betterment of spirituality, Hinduism, peace of mind, mental awareness, and so many other aspects,” he added.

Last year’s event was a success, with devotees and interested individuals attending from as far as Essequibo and Berbice. Gosine said the aim was to bring people together in spirituality, and it was beautiful to see this vision fulfilled.

Chattergoon Jadoopat, Vice President of the Bajrang Baan Committee, described the inaugural event as spiritually enriching and said that an even greater level of energy is expected at tomorrow’s gathering.

He is encouraging everyone to join for an afternoon of spiritual comfort and powerful, magical vibrations. The event at the Guyana National Stadium will commence at 3:00 PM. No alcohol or non-vegetarian food is allowed.
