Lady Jags forward Otesha Charles said sharper finishing will be crucial as the team pushes for top spot in their CONCACAF Women’s Qualifiers group, following a dominant 3-0 victory over Dominica.
Charles, who was on the scoresheet in the win, said converting chances must now become the team’s priority.
“It’s important in training that we are more clinical in the final third, so its working on finishing and scoring goals, we just need goals,” Charles stated.
Asked what the team could have done differently despite the comfortable margin, Charles was succinct in her response: “Finish our chances”.
Guyana remain in contention for first place in the group with one win and one loss and will next face Antigua and Barbuda on March 5.
Charles said discipline and consistency will be key if the Lady Jags are to advance.
“I think it is important that we remain very disciplined, work hard, don’t give up, continue to take all the chances and continues to create as much chances to give us the ultimate chance of qualifying out of the group,” Charles highlighted.
