School Basketball League set to tip off tomorrow

The recently launched School Basketball League is set for a 16:00hrs tip-off tomorrow at various venues around Georgetown, and Chairman of the league, Willon Cameron, is anticipating a thrilling start to the event.
“All systems are in place , we are anticipating an exciting start tomorrow, our feature game is going to be QC versus Saints, QC will be playing host to St. Stanislaus college which is going to the first game we will have live stream, we will have at least one game being live streamed every week and tomorrow’s game to be lived streamed in the QC versus Saints matchup so we expect that to be an exciting one,” Cameron noted.
Additionally, Cameron noted that the league is still in need of more support from Corporate Guyana.
“We haven’t had another sponsor come on board as yet and you know the call still goes out to corporate Guyana, to come out support the youths support school basketball, support this new movement of raising the standard of, seeking to raise the standard of basketball in Guyana. We believe that this is going to work but we just need your support to you know make it even better that it already is set to be,” Cameron mentioned.
Nevertheless, Cameron also highlighted that the National Sports Commission has given the league permission to use the National Gymnasium outdoor court after renovations of the court are completed in a few days’ time, which is expected to give a team without a court at their school an added venue to have home-court advantage.
The league tips off on Friday at 16:00hrs with three games playing simultaneously: Queen’s College versus St. Stanislaus College, St. Roses versus President’s College, and Marian Academy versus Government Technical Institute (GTI).
