
Captain of Chase Academic Foundation, Bryan Wharton, is basking in the glory of winning the KFC Goodwill International School Football Tournament, which concluded on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground.
Chase defeated St. Benedict College of Trinidad and Tobago 5-4 on penalties after a nil-all draw, and Wharton shared why the win was meaningful.
“it really meams a lot to we because it showing we dominant at the international level to let people know that Guyana is a stand out country with a lot of talent also,” Wharton stated.
Further, Wharton highlighted the key ingredient in the team’s dominance that saw them go unbeaten in the tournament.
“I think everybody was focus and determined and to win the major trophy which was the KFC so we grateful for that,” Wharton highlighted.
With the win, Chase Academic Foundation became the first team to repeat as champions and could aim for a three-peat in 2026.
