12-Year-Old boy found dead on Golden Fleece Beach, police investigate

Police in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) have launched an investigation into the death of a 12-year-old boy whose body was discovered early Friday morning on Golden Fleece Beach.

The deceased has been identified as Samesh Singh, a student of Johanna Cecelia Secondary School and resident of Lot 1 Golden Fleece, Region Two. Singh was reported missing on Thursday after leaving home around 16:00 hrs and failing to return.

Relatives and villagers conducted a search throughout the night, but their efforts ended in tragedy when Singh’s body was found around 08:00 hrs on Friday, lying on the sand along the shoreline.

The boy’s body was taken to Suddie Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, before being transferred to the hospital mortuary. A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
