All 180 exhibition spots for the 2025 Berbice Expo and Trade Fair have been fully booked, marking a record turnout for the event, which opens tomorrow at the Rose Hall Community Centre Ground, East Canje, Berbice.
“We have 180 exhibitors on board, and I want to say to those who may still want to participate — there is no space. We cannot accommodate anyone. This year’s Expo is going to be even more exciting than previous years,” President of the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce (CCCC), Poonai Bhigroog, said during an on-site briefing.
The four-night event will run until Monday, November 3. Exhibitors have already begun setting up their booths, with well-known beverage companies, food vendors, and popular brands such as Suri — a crowd favourite last year — preparing special offers and giveaways.
To address previous complaints about parking, Bhigroog announced that GuySuCo has granted access to an additional parking area near the guest house in East Canje.
“There will be adequate parking for a few hundred vehicles. If the main entrance looks busy, just drive a little further up — there will be people to direct you to the free parking, and security will be present to safeguard your interests,” he assured.
In response to feedback from past years, the Chamber has also implemented a strict ban on glass bottles within the Expo grounds.
“We have met with all beverage companies and food vendors and it’s a very, very strict contract we’ve signed with them that glass bottles will be prohibited. Drinks will be poured into cups and they will distribute it that way. This is a cricket ground and we are appealing to the patrons and the public not to support anyone who tries to sell drinks in bottles. If you see this happening, report it to the police or report to us (members of the Chamber),” Bhigroog explained.

Bhigroog said the 2025 edition holds special significance as Berbice continues to benefit from national economic growth linked to Guyana’s emerging oil and gas sector.

“We want businesses to showcase their work and help the public stay informed about opportunities. We cannot allow Berbicians to be left behind.”
Now in its 19th year and held under the theme “Harnessing New Wealth; Modernising Traditional Sectors for Sustainable Economic Development,” the Berbice Expo remains one of the region’s most prominent trade and cultural events.
