Partially decomposed body of Golden Grove resident discovered at Nabaclis sea dam

Body-Recovered

Police have launched an investigation into the death of 45-year-old Dwayne Roberson, called ‘El Paso,’ whose partially decomposed body was discovered on Tuesday at the Nabaclis sea dam, East Coast Demerara.

Roberson, a resident of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, had been missing since Sunday night after family members last saw him at their home. Relatives told police that he was an alcoholic who often stayed away from home for long periods.

On Sunday, around 09:00 hrs, Roberson was seen at a shop in Nabaclis consuming alcohol. He reportedly became intoxicated, fell, and struck his head on a concrete floor but did not seek medical attention. Later that evening, at about 18:00 hrs, he became delirious at home, running around and shouting that police were trying to kill him. By 23:00 hrs, relatives lost track of him.

His father, 68-year-old William Roberson, filed a Missing Person report the following night at the Cove and John Police Station. On Tuesday around 06:30 hrs, villagers alerted his sister, Tameica Glasgow, that a body had been found in a trench. Police later confirmed it to be Roberson.

The body, found lying face up with no visible marks of violence, was pronounced dead at the Enmore Regional Hospital before being taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a Post-Mortem Examination.

Investigations are continuing.
