WeLead Association, in partnership with the BB Energy Foundation, has announced that two-time Grammy Award-winning singer and entrepreneur Melanie Fiona will deliver the keynote address at the WeLead Women’s Leadership Conference 2026.
The conference is scheduled for June 27 at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre in Georgetown, and is expected to bring together women leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers from across Guyana and the Caribbean, organisers said.
Fiona rose to international prominence with her 2009 debut album “The Bridge,” which featured the hit single “It Kills Me,” and has since won two Grammy Awards, including for her collaboration “Fool For You.”
Founder of the WeLead Association, Abbigale Loncke-Watson, said Fiona’s participation reflects the conference’s focus on resilience, creativity and leadership.
The event will feature panel discussions and networking sessions focused on leadership, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, as Guyana undergoes rapid economic transformation.
Speakers are expected to include Minister Vindhya Persaud, Deputy Solicitor General Shoshanna V. Lall, and business leaders including Michelle A. Nicholas and Melissa Noel, among others.
Organisers said the conference is expected to attract hundreds of participants, including corporate executives, students and emerging leaders from across the region.
