The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has suspended the licence of an Air Services Limited (ASL) pilot following an aircraft incident today, at Mathews Ridge, Region One.

The ASL aircraft overran the prepared surface during landing, resulting in a punctured tire on the left landing gear.

A preliminary GCAA report indicated that the pilot operated outside the provisions of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued on October 23, 2025, which advised pilots to exercise caution when operating at the runway, currently undergoing upgrades.

Pilots are required to acknowledge and comply with all NOTAMs during pre-flight procedures.
The GCAA has launched a full investigation into the incident to uphold aviation safety standards.
