Major foundation works are underway on a Hilton-branded 256-room Georgetown Seafront Resort and Convention Centre, a GYD 63 billion investment secured under a 2025 agreement between Go-Invest and the project’s international developers.
The development, one of the largest hospitality projects in Guyana, is expected to significantly expand tourism and conference capacity. The resort will feature 256 rooms, over 2,000-seat convention facilities, multiple restaurants and lounges, retail spaces, sports facilities, a spa, and family-friendly amenities. Go-Invest said in a release that the project will create more than 450 jobs during construction and operation and stimulate linkages across the construction, hospitality, retail, and transport sectors.
The project aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s Vision 2030 strategy, prioritizing economic diversification, private-sector growth, and tourism expansion, the agency added.
Go-Invest Chief Investment Officer Peter R. Ramsaroop said the commencement of foundation works demonstrates investor confidence in Guyana’s trajectory. “We are building an economy by design, positioning Guyana as a premier destination for global business and international events,” Ramsaroop said.
