Assuria General Inc. has officially begun construction on its second landmark commercial building in Georgetown, on the site of its former head office on Church Street, South Cummingsburg.
Speaking at the sod-turning ceremony, CEO Mario Merhai said the company, which will mark 14 years in Guyana on April 1, is committed to supporting the country’s financial sector and insurance market.
“The way Guyana has developed in these past years, since 2019, has been remarkable. We are honoured to be part of this growth,” Merhai said.
He outlined the vision for the new building, which will add modern commercial office space and enhance the appeal of Georgetown’s inner city.
Merhai added that the project aims to be completed on time and within budget, with safety a priority.
The new tower is expected to reinforce Assuria’s long-term commitment to the Guyanese market.
