The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that 130 murders and 124 accidents resulting in 137 road traffic deaths were recorded in 2025.
The Force stressed that annual crime and traffic statistics undergo a structured process of compilation, verification and approval before public release to ensure accuracy and completeness across all divisions.
While provisional crime trends and data were presented during the Christmas Policing briefing in November 2025, the reporting year had not been formally closed at the time and the figures were still undergoing final verification.
The Guyana Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to providing accurate and verifiable information to the media.
