GMRSC unveils action-packed 2026 calendar

The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMRSC) on Thursday released its 2026 racing schedule, promising a season of expanded competition and new formats across the country.
The season kicks off on February 1 with the Dakota 100 Championship, Round 1, marking the start of a year that will test endurance, speed, and driver skill.
For the first time, the GMRSC will host a dedicated Time Attack Series, a format where drivers race against the clock rather than each other. The three-round series is set for February 15, August 16, and November 22.
Drag racing will return to the regions, with events planned in Essequibo on March 29 and Berbice on October 18. These regional races complement the national Drag Race Championship, which will hold three rounds at the South Dakota Circuit, including an international meet on September 27.
The premier Circuit Championship will open on April 12, with the season concluding at the International Circuit Championship on November 1, traditionally the country’s largest motorsport event. Endurance racing fans will also follow the full Dakota 100 series, with rounds in February, May, and September.
With events scheduled nearly every month from February through November, the GMRSC aims to deliver a packed calendar of motorsport for both competitors and fans across Guyana.
