Guyanese to track complaints and book services with new apps

The Government will soon launch the CitizensConnect App, a digital platform designed to allow Guyanese to raise concerns, submit complaints, and track issues in real time, officials said.
“Simply put, you can make submissions of complaints or grievances with text, images and GPS location. Real-time tracking of issues, resolution status, secure communications between citizens and government agencies for updates and clarifications. In connecting government agencies to every Guyanese household and communities, it saves every citizen’s time from physically going to work,” said Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation Zulfikar Ally.
The launch comes alongside the GovConnect app, a digital appointment system that allows citizens to book government services in advance, expected to eliminate long lines and uncertainty at ministries.
“Two weeks ago, my ministry tested and implemented the GovConnect app, an appointment app designed for citizens to book their appointments with the ministry beforehand, mitigating wait time and even the potential of being rescheduled for another day,” Ally said.
He described both initiatives as part of a broader shift toward predictable and equal access to government services.
“Imagine, no longer will long lines and unpredictable changes to government services will be faced by you. Every citizen will have equal access to all government services without any discrimination,” he said.
Ally noted that the Public Service is now entering its digital era, supported by the Digital Guyana initiative, which aims to modernise governance through digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
As part of the transformation, the Ministry is amending public service rules to align with international best practices and digitizing employment records to allow public servants easy access to their work history, qualifications, and experience. A Public Service Management Portal, integrating all agencies electronically, is also planned.
