Seven new immersive tourism products were launched on Tuesday as authorities move to expand experiential offerings and deepen visitor engagement across the country’s tourism sector.
The experiences — Bush Bar & Bites; Kumerau Expedition; Essequibo Got Taste; Kids Botani Tour; Cook Like a Guyanese Tour; Celebrating the Coconut; and the Guyana Flying Dress Experience — were introduced at an event at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre that brought together tour operators, partners and other stakeholders.

Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister Susan Rodrigues said the new products align with government plans to position tourism as a major pillar of economic growth, noting that support for small and community-based operators remains central to that strategy. She said the administration is working to elevate the country’s visibility in international markets while ensuring visitors have access to authentic cultural and nature-based experiences.
Guyana Tourism Authority Director Kamrul Baksh said the agency is placing increased emphasis on product development, with immersive and experience-driven tourism forming a core part of its approach.
The event also included the signing of an MoU between Wanderlust Adventures GY and the Carnegie School of Economics to advance culinary tourism and expand training opportunities.
Officials said more than 70 new tourism experiences have been added since 2020.
